Signature Cuts and Shaves is a vintage barbershop with a modern twist, offered in a setting that is deeply rooted in DC’s unique History. Master Barber and Proprietor, Julian Everett, opened Signature Cuts and Shaves in the spring of 2016 with the idea of bringing back traditional barbering services to the neighborhood he grew up in. Since that time, the shop has flourished, becoming an integral part of the Shaw/U Street neighborhood, while building a strong connection with his patrons and the community.

As a native Washingtonian, Julian grew up in a hair salon located in the Petworth area of DC. His mother, June Everett, came to the United States from Barbados in 1976, and proceeded to open her own salon on Georgia Avenue – J&J Barber & Beauty Salon. For the next 15 years, Julian would watch, learn and work under the tutelage of his mother and other barbers. By the time it was all said and done, June ultimately owned 3 successful shops in the DC area. Thus, it was only natural that Julian would become a master barber and one day turn his dream into a reality by opening his own shop, Signature Cuts and Shaves, on historic U Street.

With over 21 years of experience, Julian, along with his diverse staff of professionals, are available to provide barbering services that are classic in roots, and sophisticated in style. Whether you need a relaxing hot shave, or are looking for a classic pompadour or a burst fade, we specialize in providing a full menu of superior, individualized services that will refine your look and leave you feeling sharp and sophisticated. We always offers a hot towel following any cut and shave service. In addition, we offer a variety of complimentary beverages, including libations, on request.
